GUJRAT: The cyclone Biparjoy is likely to reach the vicinity of Jakhau Port in the Kutch district this evening as a "highly intense cyclonic storm" with maximum wind speeds reaching up to 150 kilometers per hour, as stated in the bulletin released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the IMD, as the cyclone approaches, the intensity of rainfall is expected to escalate, particularly in isolated areas of Kutch, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Jamnagar, where extremely heavy showers are likely to occur. The IMD has issued red, orange, and yellow alerts in numerous districts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Let's take a look at the preparations being made by the affected states in response to cyclone Biparjoy.

Flood Warning: Until June 15, the sea conditions off the coasts of Saurashtra and Kutch are anticipated to be severe, but the situation is expected to improve thereafter. The Meteorological Department has cautioned about a storm surge in Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Morbi districts, where astronomical tides ranging from 3 to 6 meters are likely to inundate low-lying areas during the landfall.

Rain Forecast:Today, the intensity of rainfall is projected to increase significantly. Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Jamnagar are expected to experience extremely heavy downpours, while Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, and Junagarh districts of Gujarat are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
