Cyclone Hamoon, originally centered over the coastal region of Bangladesh, is anticipated to transform into a deep depression within the next six hours, as reported by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

On Wednesday, the IMD provided updates on Cyclone Hamoon's status, noting that it was situated approximately 40 kilometers to the east-southeast of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The cyclonic system is predicted to veer northeastward, ultimately weakening into a deep depression over the course of the next six hours.

According to the official weather statement, "The Cyclonic Storm Hamoon, located along the coastal areas of Bangladesh, was observed at 0530 hours IST on the 25th of October. It was positioned around 40 kilometers to the east-southeast of Chittagong (Bangladesh). The system is expected to proceed on a northeast trajectory, gradually transitioning into a deep depression within the next 6 hours and subsequently evolving into a depression in the following 6 hours."

In light of this weather development, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued a special bulletin, advising all fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay area to take shelter.

Furthermore, maritime ports in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar have been instructed to downgrade their danger signal from seven to a local Cautionary Signal three (R) three. Similarly, maritime ports in Mongla and Payra have been directed to reduce their Danger signal from five to a local Cautionary three (R) three, as specified in the bulletin.
