Cyclone Yaas has badly affected Odisha and West Bengal amidst corona crisis. According to an estimate, one crore people have been affected by the storm in West Bengal. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi is making an aerial visit to the affected areas in Odisha and Bengal today. Prime Minister Modi has arrived in Odisha. He is meeting with state chief minister Naveen Patnaik to assess the impact of cyclone Yaas. They will be discussing the damage caused by the storm Yaas.
The Prime Minister will make an aerial visit to the affected areas of Balasore, Bhadrak and East Midnapore districts of West Bengal. The Prime Minister will hold a review meeting at Kalaikunda in West Bengal before returning to Delhi. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik will also make an aerial visit to the affected areas this afternoon. According to reports, the cyclonic storm Yaas was in jharkhand and adjoining areas of Bihar on Thursday. On 28th May, 2021, a well marked low pressure over Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will weaken in the region. Jharkhand witnessed heavy rain on May 27 due to the storm.
Cyclone Yaas has badly affected Odisha. Trees have fallen at many places here. At the same time, many areas have been inundated. With this, State Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced 7 days relief for the families of 128 affected villages in flood affected cities. Heavy wind and rain inundated hundreds of coastal villages on Wednesday and uprooted lakhs of houses. Three persons were killed in Bengal and one in Odisha. Reportedly, one crore people have been affected in Bengal.
