Cyclone Yaas hits Odisha coast, 6 feet high waves in sea, heavy rains

Bhubaneswar: Cyclonic 'Yaas' has hit odisha coast. The storm hit south of Balasore, with wind speed of 130-140 kmph. The storm arrived a few hours late as scheduled, as its speed had slowed down from 15-16 kmph to 12 kmph.

On the other hand, sea water has entered the residential areas of Odisha due to the impact of the storm. So there is also a water logging in Haldia port of West Bengal. The landfall of cyclone Yass continues. However, the cyclone is now moving northwestwards.
