The country is facing the threat of cyclonic storm 'Yaas' after the storm. The low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is shifting to the coast on Monday, today, as the cyclonic storm 'Yaas'. The cyclonic storm is scheduled to hit paradip and sagar deep coasts by the evening of May 26. This information was given by the Ministry of Indian Meteorological Affairs. Briefing about cyclone Yas, Director General, Ministry of Weather, Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the impact could lead to heavy rainfall and strong winds in the districts of north Odisha. After the evening of 24th, strong winds of 40 to 50 km per hour are expected in coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal.

They said the wind speed may be 155 to 165 km while cyclone Yass is making landfall. In some places, the speed may be 185. It is a very deadly wind speed which you can also compare with the previous cyclone Tauktae and cyclone Amphan.  These two cyclones had caused a lot of damage in the past. Let me tell you that Amfan has knocked at Sunderbans in South Bengal at a speed of 155-165 kmph on 20th May last year. The speed later went up to 185 kmph. 98 people have also lost their lives. Cyclone Toukte had a landfall east of Diu on May 17. At a time whose speed is 160-170 km/h Which was at a speed of 185 km/h later. It had reached the hour.

Severe cyclonic storm in next 24 hours: According to the Met Ministry, the cyclonic storm called 'Yas' will hit the coastal areas of West Bengal, Odisha and Bangladesh on May 26. At present, Bengal tax has become a low pressure area in the Gulf. It is moving north-northwestwards and is likely to turn into a cyclonic storm on Monday. After which it may be in a very severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours.
