The country is facing the threat of cyclonic storm 'Yaas' after the storm. The low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is shifting to the coast on Monday, today, as the cyclonic storm 'Yaas'. The cyclonic storm is scheduled to hit paradip and sagar deep coasts by the evening of May 26. This information was given by the Ministry of Indian Meteorological Affairs. Briefing about cyclone Yas, Director General, Ministry of Weather, Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the impact could lead to heavy rainfall and strong winds in the districts of north Odisha. After the evening of 24th, strong winds of 40 to 50 km per hour are expected in coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal.
They said the wind speed may be 155 to 165 km while cyclone Yass is making landfall. In some places, the speed may be 185. It is a very deadly wind speed which you can also compare with the previous cyclone Tauktae and cyclone Amphan. These two cyclones had caused a lot of damage in the past.
