Government Announces Significant DA Hike for Central Employees and Pensioners: The Union Cabinet of India has sanctioned a substantial increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees. As of now, India has observed a decline in retail inflation, reaching a three-month low at 5.02 percent in September. This favorable trend in retail inflation is particularly relevant in the context of the DA hike, as it enables government employees to offset the increased costs of living. Furthermore, India's wholesale inflation has continued to remain in negative territory for the sixth consecutive month, registering at -0.26 percent. This overall economic climate underscores the importance of measures like the DA hike to support citizens in these challenging times.

In a related development, the Indian Railways has also recognized the dedicated efforts of its non-gazetted staff by announcing a commendable bonus. A total of 11.07 lakh non-gazetted rail employees are set to receive a 78-day bonus, which will cost the government an estimated Rs 1,969 crore. This bonus, which has been in place since 2012, is directly linked to the productivity and performance of railway staff, further encouraging their dedication and commitment to their roles.
