A shocking incident has come to light from Gujarat. A 25-year-old Dalit youth was stabbed to death by his upper caste in-laws in front of the police. The young man was attacked when he went to pick up his newlywed wife from her mother's house with a team of the Gujarat government's Abhayam Helpline for safety.

According to police, the deceased was named as Haresh Kumar Solanki, who was killed by eight men outside his wife Urmila's house. Ahmedabad Rural Police has registered a murder case under various sections of the Atrocities Act and arrested one person in the case.

The other seven accused are absconding. Urmila's father, Dasarathsinh Jala, is being told the main accused in the murder. The counsellor of the Abhayam Helpline, Bhavika Bhagora has registered a case in the case. The name of the deceased was Haresh Solanki, he said. He was 25 years old.
