Bollywood's famous actor and wrestler Dara Singh is a well-known personality today. He is always in discussions for his wrestling. Even today, his fans remember him wholeheartedly. After coming to Bollywood, by his acting proved that wrestler could do everything if he was determined. Today is the death anniversary of the famous wrestler Dara Singh. So on this day, we will share with you many unique moments of his life. Dara Singh, a world-renowned freestyle wrestler of his time, won the World Championship of Commonwealth in 1959 by defeating former world champion George Gardianka. In 1968, he became the world champion of freestyle wrestling by defeating American world champion Lou Thez. He wrestled till the age of 55 and did not face defeat in any of the 500 matches. After winning the final match of his life in 1983, he retired from wrestling with respect.

In the 1960s, his free style wrestling was dominated all over India. Later Dara Singh started working in Hindi stunt films with Mumtaz, the famous actress of his time. The actor has also directed and written in addition to acting in several films. He gained immense popularity from the character of Hanuman in the TV serial Ramayana. He wrote his autobiography in Punjabi which was also written in Hindi in 1993. Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government nominated Dara Singh as a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha for a full 6 years from August 2003 to August 2009.

He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital Mumbai after a heart attack on 7 July 2012 but was brought back to his Mumbai residence where he suffered no relief for five days, where he died on 12 July 2012 at 7:30 in the morning.
