Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings has already hit the screen but boycott Alia Bhatt is trending as the movie favors domestic violence as in Darlings. Alia’s character beats her husband with a pan, throwing water on his face, thrusting his face inside a tank full of water, thrashing him left-right, and center, and making constant plans to not kill him but treat him ‘exactly how he treated her. The actress is taking revenge on her husband and is treating him in the same way he treated her. Darlings actor Shefali Shah recently commented on it.

Shefali Shah who is playing Alia’s mother in the movie and also encourages her onscreen daughter to give it back. In a recent interview speaking about the Boycott trend, Shefali Shah said, "I don't want to dignify this with a comment."

Earlier when  Alia Bhatt was asked about the Boycott trend the actress said, "I am okay with making a mistake. Nowadays, you are getting trolled for sneezing, or breathing, or getting out of a car. So am I worried about that? No. Not at all. Am I worried about making a mistake? No. Not at all because if I don’t make a mistake, how am I going to learn? Or how am I going to question?”

Darlings, starring Alia, Shefali, Vijay Verma, and Roshan Mathew, is about a mother-daughter seeking revenge from the latter's abusive husband. The film is currently streaming on Netflix. It is a dark comedy. The film features Alia Bhatt in the role of a domestic abuse survivor named Badrunissa Shaikh and Shefali Shah as her mother.
