Kolkata: The West Bengal Election Commission has decided to amend the election schedule of four municipalities in view of the increasing number of coronavirus epidemic cases in the state. The Election Commission on Saturday said that in view of the increasing number of cases of corona infection, it has been decided to extend the elections for four municipalities by three weeks and hold it on February 12.

Accordingly, elections to Siliguri Municipality, Chandernagaur Municipality, VidhanNagar Municipality and Asansol Municipality will now be held on 12th February instead of 22nd January. The notification said voting will begin at 7 am and end at 5 pm.
