Patna: A case has come to light from Parsa Bazar village in Patna, the capital of Bihar, where a daughter-in-law killed her 55-year-old mother-in-law with a knife and then tried to commit suicide. The incident happened on Tuesday morning when 33-year-old Lalita Devi stabbed her mother-in-law, Dharmashila Devi, in her head and killed her. The husband and son of the deceased woman were not present at home at the time when the daughter-in-law murdered her mother-in-law.
After killing the mother-in-law, the daughter-in-law tried to commit suicide by setting herself on fire. However, in doing so, the daughter-in-law burned 40%. Lalita Devi is currently undergoing treatment at PMCH Hospital in Patna. When the villagers came to know about the incident, they immediately called the police and briefed them about the entire incident. The police found Dharmashila Devi's body soaked in blood on the spot and her head was attacked several times with a knife. Police at the scene also found a blood-stained knife and the deceased woman's eye.
According to police sources, the relationship between Lalita Devi and her mother-in-law Dharmashila Devi had deteriorated over the past few months. Lalita Devi is said to have not been able to become a mother and that is why her mother-in-law continued to taunt her. The police is investigating the entire matter and it is also being investigated at this point that Lalita Devi, who was disturbed by her mother-in-law, due to not becoming a mother. In the entire case, Dharamshila Devi's husband Ram Kumar has filed an FIR against his daughter-in-law.
