Ankara, In a shocking incident, spate of deadly bombings occurred in Turkey, against Turkish security forces as Kurdish rebels launched a new campaign of attacks targeting areas that are not predominantly Kurdish.

In an attack, atleast twelve people were killed.

Turkish officials accused the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) of carrying out three bloody attacks in less than 24 hours that for the first time struck areas in the east that are not predominantly Kurdish.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Thursday on a visit to the scene of one of the bombings, “This nation will never surrender to any terrorist organisation”.

Another five soldiers and a guard were killed in a attack that targeted a military convoy in the southeastern town of Bitlis on Thursday.

The rebels, who have been fighting a deadly insurgency against the Turkish state for three decades, appear to have intensified their attacks since the failed coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on July 15.
