New Delhi: the Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Railways & Coal, Piyush Goyal today presented the Interim Budget 2019-20 9 in which government launch schemes for the people belong to the different class or catogory including farmers. Taking an aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi government over its announcement of a pension and direct minimum income for farmers in the budget  Congress president Rahul Gandhi said giving Rs 17-a-day to farmers is an insult.

He took to Twitter and wrote, "Dear NoMo,5 years of your incompetence and arrogance has destroyed the lives of our farmers. Giving the Rs. 17 a day is an insult to everything they stand and work for," the Congress president.

The Tweet of the Congress president came after Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal announced “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)” pension scheme of Rs 6,000 per year to farmer families who have cultivable land of upto 2 hectares.   For the implementation of the scheme, Rs 75,000 crore have been allocated for the year the upcoming financial year 2019-20 and a sum of Rs 20,000 crore has been allocated for disbursal in the current financial year.

Under this scheme, Rs 2,000 each will be transferred to the bank accounts of more than 12 crore small and marginal farmer families in three installments.
