Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie Chhappak is creating quite a buzz since its inception. The actress has wrapped up the first for the shooting schedule of her film Chhapaak in Delhi and to celebrate this she had a special lunch on the sets. Padmavaat actress took out some time from her hectic schedule and grabbed a bite with acid attack survivor Laxmi.

The latter is the real-life acid attack survivor and Chhapaak is inspired by Laxmi's life. Recently, Laxmi spoke about her take on the film at an event and said, "I have never won a medal in school. Who would have thought about a biopic being made on me? . She further said, I am thankful to Meghna ji for considering my work worthy enough to be converted into a film."

The actress also added that she is also elated that a celebrity like Deepika is playing her. According to Laxmi, this film will be a tight slap on that attacker who thought he ruined her life and to the society who looked at her like a criminal."

The film is being directed by Meghna Gulzar and also stars Vikrant Massey. It is being co-produced by Deepika and Fox Star Studios. In the film, Deepika will be called 'Malti' and she looked absolutely unrecognisable in the first look. In fact, a lot of videos and pictures from the film surfaced online.  Chhapaak is slated to hit the theatres on January 10, 2020.
