Ranchi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured the tribal community during a public meeting in Jharkhand that reservations would not be terminated, refuting opposition claims that the BJP intended to end them. Campaigning for BJP candidate Sita Soren in the Dumka constituency, Singh rejected allegations made by the opposition regarding reservations, affirming that they would be safeguarded.
"The opposition falsely accuses the BJP of ending reservation. But I say that I will never let reservation end. I give assurance to the people of the tribal society that no one can end your reservation," Singh stated at an election rally in Dumka. Singh also addressed corruption issues, emphasizing that corrupt individuals would not escape punishment under the Modi government.
"No corrupt person will escape in the Modi government. Whenever Congress government was in power, corruption prevailed. If we say something against the corrupt, opposition parties say that we did wrong. If we have done wrong, then action will be taken against us. Go to the High Court or Supreme Court. We do not divide anyone on the basis of caste and religion," he assured.
Taking a dig at JMM, Singh recounted an incident when the Chief Minister of Jharkhand went missing for 24 hours, expressing his disbelief. "The people of Jharkhand may be poor but they have self-respect. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government has discriminated against you. JMM will be punished for this," Singh promised.
Highlighting the achievements of PM Narendra Modi, Singh stated, "PM Modi's dream is to eradicate poverty from India. Modi government took the country's economy from 11th position to 5th position." Singh accused the Congress government of corruption and criticized its ministers who have been jailed.
"Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) are indulging in corruption and are doing politics by lying," Singh alleged. Addressing members of the tribal community, Singh praised their role in India's independence and development. "The country is progressing under PM Modi's leadership," Singh remarked.
