Itanagar: Opposition continues uproar in both the Houses of Parliament over the conflict between Indo-China soldiers in Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given a statement on this issue in the Lok Sabha. He said that the Indian Army responded bravely to China. Indian soldiers drove the Chinese soldiers back to their post. During this, no soldier of the Indian Army was martyred nor there was any serious injury.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that I want to inform this House regarding the clash in Tawang in Arunachal. On 9 December 2022, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) jawans attempted to change the status quo by encroaching. Our army faced it firmly. During this, there was a scuffle between the soldiers on both sides. The Indian Army prevented the Chinese troops from encroaching and drove them back to their posts. Following the incident, the local commander in the area held a flag meeting with his Chinese counterpart on 11 December 2022 under established arrangements and discussed the incident. The Chinese side was asked to maintain peace along the border. The issue has also been taken up with the Chinese side at the diplomatic level.

The Union Defense Minister further said I want to assure this house, that our forces are fully committed to safeguarding our territorial integrity, and are always ready to prevent any attempt against it. I am sure this House will unanimously support the valor and courage of our forces.
