Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reviews implementation of reform measures in armed forces

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday reviewed the progress in the implementation of the long-pending reform process in the Armed Forces, under which several steps are being taken to expand the combat capability of the forces.

For your information, let us tell you that in a high-level review meeting with Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defense Chief General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadoria and Chief of Army Staff General MM Narwane were also present.

Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar and Chairman of Defense Research and Development Organization G. Satish Reddy were also present in the meeting regarding this plan. The government announced an ambitious reform initiative for the Indian Army in August 2017 based on the recommendations of a committee headed by Lieutenant General (Retd) DB Shekatkar. "The meeting reviewed the implementation of the recommendations of the Shekatkar Committee," an official said. The army has also implemented several recommendations to expand its combat capability.
