Delhi: Four youth drowned in the Yamuna river in North Delhi's Burari area on Friday. The rescue operation was immediately launched and so far, three bodies have been recovered. Search for the fourth youth is underway.

Deputy commissioner of police, Sagar Singh Kalsi said that a control room call was received around 1:20 am on Friday at  Burari police station where 4 persons were reported missing and according to the police it was found that around noon of Thursday, four persons aged between 14 to 20 had come from Loni to swim in the Yamuna at thokar number 7, Sonia Pushta, Burari. When they didn’t reach home, their families started looking for them and with the help of a friend, a bike was located at the Yamuna bank and some clothes were found.

According to reports, the four youth had gone to the river yesterday to take bath. Their families had complained to the local police after they failed to return. After which rescue and search operation started at the dawn and so far three bodies have been recovered. Police and rescue team is investigating the matter and the search operation for the fourth person is still going on.
