New Delhi: A 22-year-old Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside the toilet of Welcome Metro station in the country's capital Delhi. The police have given information about this incident on Friday. In media reports, police have been told that the incident happened on Thursday evening. A senior police officer has told the media that at around 8 pm, the sound of gunshots came from the 'washroom' of the metro station.

No suicide note has been recovered from the deceased jawan and due to this, the incident has not been disclosed. The police have sent the body for post-mortem, along with the family members of the jawan living in Bihar have been informed about the incident. The post-mortem of the dead body will be conducted only after the arrival of the family. The deceased jawan was a resident of Rohtas district of Bihar and was admitted to the post of constable in CISF in the year 2021. The jawan was posted at the Welcome Metro station. On getting information about the incident on Thursday, Shastri Park Metro Station police reached the spot. During the investigation, the police found that the constable had committed suicide by shooting himself in the bathroom with a service SLR and further investigation is on.

The deceased jawan had come after taking training about five months back. At the same time, the marriage of the deceased jawan Ajay was confirmed. She was to get married in December this year. After the arrival of PARIJANON, the police will also interrogate the family members to know if the jawan was suffering from any domestic problem. The police have started investigating the matter after scrutinizing the phone details of the jawan.
