Regarding the demand of Kohinoor, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi has said that a few years ago, the government's response to this issue was informed in the Parliament. He said that I understand that the Central Government had given an answer to this in Parliament a few years ago. We have said that we have been talking to the UK Government from time to time and we will continue to explore ways and means to find a satisfactory solution to the matter. Let us tell you that in 1849, Maharaja Duleep Singh handed over the 108-carat Kohinoor diamond to Queen Victoria. It was later placed in the crown of the Queen in 1937. There is speculation in the British media that Camilla may wear the crown when she is given the title of Queen at an event on May 6 next year. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, many Twitter users in India demanded to bring Kohinoor back to India.

The 105-carat diamond has passed to his wife, Duchess Cornwall, Camilla, with the Queen's son Prince Charles taking over the throne. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the demand for Kohinoor to be brought back to India started increasing on social media. Many Twitter users have taken the issue seriously and said that the Kohinoor diamond belongs to India. It should be brought back to India from Britain. Shri Jagannath Sena Sangathan based in Puri submitted a memorandum to the President in this regard. The memorandum states that Kohinoor belongs to the 12th-century Jagannath temple. So intervene in this matter to bring it back.
