New Delhi: A piece of bad news has come for India at the international level. In the data of the Global Hunger Index 2022, India has slipped six places to 107th position out of 121 countries. India ranks better than only war-torn country Afghanistan among South Asian countries on the international list. The surprising thing in the report is that the situation of Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which are facing economic crises and starvation, is also much better than India. Taliban-ruled Afghanistan is the only South Asian country to rank below India. Let us tell you that even before this, India's ranking was shown far behind in the year 2021. At that time the Indian government had rejected these figures outright.

Actually, one of the reasons behind rejecting these figures is also believed that India has sent tons of grain to a country facing an economic crisis like Sri Lanka, then how did it get ahead of India in the international ranking? Apart from this, how is Pakistan's ranking better than India, which was devastated by the floods? Whereas according to a report, 10 kg of flour is being sold for Rs 720 in the neighbouring country, Pakistan. At the same time, a litre of milk is being sold at the rate of Rs 150, a kg of chicken at Rs 340, a kg of sugar at the rate of Rs 100, a dozen eggs at the rate of Rs 141. Now if even after such inflation, Pakistan is better than India in the ranking of hunger, then doubting this global report is obvious. Even during the Corona period, India had supplied food grains to many countries and also sent many trucks free food grains to Afghanistan., At the same time, when India recently banned wheat exports, there was an outcry in the whole world and many countries urged India to remove this ban.

In such a situation, it is very difficult to believe that India is ranked 107th in the list of 121 countries in terms of the hunger index. Earlier in the year 2021, India was at 101 rankings. On the other hand, if we talk about the neighbouring countries, then Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar have been ranked 99, 64, 84, 81 and 71 respectively. The surprising thing is that all these countries are above India. However, there has been no response from the Government of India on this report so far. But, surprisingly, Pakistan, which is facing severe inflation and starvation after the devastating floods, is shown to be in a better position than India. The floods in Pakistan had submerged a third of the area. Millions of people were made homeless. Thousands of people died. Food-loving Pakistan had sought the help of rations from countries around the world, Still, it is better than India. In such a situation, there is doubt about the report of this Global Hunger Index 2022.
