In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Wednesday issued a ban on public Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in the national capital, only two days before the festival. The DDMA stated in an official order that district magistrates and deputy commissioners of police will ensure that Lord Ganesha statues are not placed in a tent or pandal. Furthermore, crowds should not gather in any religious or social venue.

Permission will not be allowed for any procession, according to the order. People must celebrate the festival at home, stated DDMA.

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated this month, and due to the current restrictions on gatherings and congregations, as well as the present situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, it has been decided that the festival will not be permitted in public areas, according to the order.
