New Delhi: After installing a board of Madhavpur in Mohammadpur village under the national capital, the BJP has demanded to change the Muslim names of 40 villages of Delhi. Delhi BJP unit president Adesh Gupta has written a letter to CM Arvind Kejriwal in this regard. He has demanded the Delhi government to take an early decision in this regard.

For this, Aadesh Gupta tweeted, "Let every village of Delhi be known with self-respect and not by the symbol of slavery, today i have written a letter to CM Arvind Kejriwal demanding that the names of 40 villages symbolizing slavery be changed to the name of 40 villages, which are symbols of slavery, after freedom fighters and great personalities. Hopefully, they will rise above politics and approve soon. He has said that along with Mohammadpur, 40 villages including Humayunpur, Yusuf Sarai, Masjid Moth, Ber Sarai, Masoodpur, Jamrudpur, Begumpur, Sadela, Fatehpur Beri, Hauz Khas, Sheikh Sarai, Neb Sarai, Mirzapur, Hasanpur, Ghalibpur, Tajpur Khurd, Najafgarh, Alipur should be named after freedom fighters, sacrificers and those who have achieved special achievements in various fields.
Aadesh Gupta had gone to Mohammadpur village on Wednesday (April 27, 2022) and put up a board of Madhavpur demanding its name to be changed. He said that on the demand of the villagers, about four months ago, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation had passed a resolution in this regard and sent it to the Delhi government. However, the Delhi government has not yet approved it. The Delhi BJP president says that the country is celebrating Amrit Mahotsav on the completion of 75 years of independence. Even after so many years, the names of many villages of Delhi are symbols of slavery. It is possible that CM Arvind Kejriwal's attention has not gone to this. The BJP has identified 40 such villages. Aadesh Gupta, in his letter to the Delhi government, has claimed that the people of these 40 villages are ready to change the name.
