Delhi witnessed a cloudy sky and light rainfall on Wednesday morning as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for the city. The IMD has forecasted more rains until Friday, with warnings of potential waterlogging in low-lying areas, which could lead to traffic disruptions.

Earlier this week, parts of Delhi, including Mundka, faced waterlogging after a spell of rain, causing vehicles to struggle through flooded roads and resulting in traffic congestion. The downpour on Saturday evening had provided some relief from the humid conditions in the national capital.

Heavy Rains in Northwest India

Heavy rains have also impacted other parts of northwest India. In Ajmer, Rajasthan, severe waterlogging submerged low-lying areas, making it difficult for vehicles to move and worsening traffic congestion.

The IMD’s regional forecast for northwest India predicts widespread light to moderate rainfall in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, with isolated heavy rains expected over Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan from September 11 to 13, and in Haryana on September 12. Isolated heavy rainfall is also predicted in Uttarakhand and Haryana between September 11 and 14, and in Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan from September 11 to 15.
