Shreyas Iyer, an ace cricketer of the Indian team has suffered a shoulder injury before the series finale between India and England. The middle-order batsman was ruled out of the One Day Internationals. Now, days after injuring his left shoulder Delhi Capitals skipper Iyer sustained a massive injury blow due to which it is said that he may be ruled out from entire IPL edition 2021. 

Delhi Capitals Shreyas Iyer's absence leaves a hole in the batting. While the flamboyant batsman will still receive his IPL salary for the upcoming season. Yes, isn't it shocking of Iyer to get a whole salary without even stepping in the ground?  Iyer will be reportedly getting his complete IPL salary despite missing the entire season of the cash-rich league. According to a report filed by Sportskeeda, it has been learned that Iyer will be compensated. The report further stated that batsman Shreyas is entitled to be compensated according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India Player Insurance policy. According to information received, the report read that a clause will make Iyer eligible to receive his entire salary of ₹7 crores since he was on national duty when he injured his shoulder. 

The Delhi Capitals have named Rishabh Pant as the captain of the Ricky Ponting-coached side for the IPL 2021 after Iyer ruled out of the upcoming season. The Delhi-based franchise had wished the premier batsman a speedy recovery.
