New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has expressed concern over the growing cases of corona. CM Kejriwal said that lockdown can be imposed in the markets if required. For this, he has also sent a proposal to the Deputy Governor (LG) as no lockdown can be imposed anywhere without the permission of the Center.

CM Kejriwal said that due to the increasing cases of Corona, some big decisions have been taken. He said that earlier when the situation of Corona in Delhi had improved, the Delhi government had increased the number of guests to the wedding ceremony from 50 to 200 as per the guidelines of the Center. That order has been withdrawn and now the number of guests at the wedding is being restored to 50. Its proposal has been sent to LG.

He said that we saw on the Diwali festival that some markets were very crowded due to which the corona infection spread rapidly. We have sent a proposal to the Center to allow us to lockdown in the markets when needed. However, he also hoped that now that the festival is over, it might not be needed, but the Delhi government should be allowed to lockdown if any further efforts do not improve the spread of infection.
