There is a lockdown due to coronavirus and there is a strict ban on people leaving the house.  24 hours service of Delhi Women's Commission is going on and during this time around 1400 phone calls are being received. According to the information received recently, the women panchayat teams are also helping and through this, many women are being provided ration and necessities. The lockdown has increased till May 3 and a lot has changed due to the lockdown, people are imprisoned in homes, roads are completely empty. During this lockdown, crimes against women in the capital Delhi has come down which is a good sign.

Delhi Women's Commission Helpline 181 receives 1500-1800 calls daily. During the lockdown, the Commission received excessive call volumes between 26 March and 31 March and the Commission received 4,341 calls on 27 March, 5522 calls on 28 March and over 3,000 calls on 29 and 30 March.

After April 1, the Commission is receiving around 1300 to 1500 calls per day, but the maximum number of cases in these phone calls are regarding food and other necessary items and not any crime. Domestic violence has also decreased at this time. According to the Delhi Women's Commission, between 12 and 24 March, there were 6 complaints related to sexual assault, molestation, but now it has reduced to only 2-3. There has been a decrease of about 71 percent in the cases of rape. A 90 percent decrease has been reported in the cases of kidnapping.
