Strict actions taken against liquor selling without 2-D bar code in Delhi

New Delhi: The Excise Department of Delhi Government has issued a strict warning against the sellers of liquor without '2D bar code'. In fact, there are many such clubs, bars, and hotels in the capital of the country, where the excise department was receiving complaints about selling liquor without using the 2D bar code. In the order issued by the Excise Department, strict action has been warned against such people.

In fact, the Excise Department has instructed all the clubs, restaurants, hotels as well as liquor shops in Delhi that if a '2D bar code' is not found on the bottle of liquor, it will be treated as liquor paid without duty. Also, the Excise Department has warned that strict violations will be taken against the license holders under the Delhi Excise Act 2009 and Delhi Excise Rules 2010 against those who violate the rule.

The Excise Department has issued instructions that all the bottles of liquor should have such a bar code, which is clearly visible and scannable. Also, in the instructions given to hotels, clubs, bars, and restaurants, it is said that the '2D bar code' on the bottle of liquor is covered with cello tape so that the bar code does not get spoiled while selling or serving liquor.
