New Delhi: 64 rooms will be set up in a five-story hostel for players and their coaches at Chhatrasal Stadium at a cost of Rs 20.92 crore to promote sports and provide better facilities to players and their coaches in the national capital. The hostel will have 2 mat wrestling halls, medical rooms, physiotherapy centers, gyms, steam baths as well as other state-of-the-art facilities. The construction of the hostel will be completed in 16 months.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the construction of hostels will benefit the players and they will be able to focus on their sports and training while in the stadium. He said the Chhatrasal Stadium has so far awarded 5 Olympic medals to the country in wrestling. With these modern facilities, hostels, and coaching, world-class wrestlers will also be prepared for the future in the stadium. Sisodia said that all respect the sportspersons who have won medals, give crores of rewards. But when players sweat and struggle during practice on the field before bringing medals, the Delhi government helps them.

He shared that the Delhi government provides better training and financial assistance to coaches and sports equipment under the 'Play and Progress' and 'Mission Excellence' programs to sportspersons who are likely to move forward. So that their dreams do not stop due to lack of money.
