NEW DELHI: The High Court has issued a notice to BJP leader Vijender Gupta seeking his reply on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's plea seeking quashing of summons in a defamation case. The matter will now be heard on November 20. Arvind Kejriwal had moved the Delhi High Court on Tuesday to dismiss the defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta and summons issued in the case.

On Tuesday, when Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri reached for a hearing, he remarked that the High Court in its judgement had held that re-tweeting could be treated as an offence of defamation under the IPC and it would be determined during the hearing. The court had asked Kejriwal's lawyer to read the order and find out if it would apply to the case as well.

BJP leader Vijender Gupta in his complaint had accused Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia of tarnishing his image. According to the complaint, the above two had accused him of being part of an alleged conspiracy to assassinate Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Arvind Kejriwal on Twitter.
