INX Media case: Delhi High Court directs AIIMS, says 'hand over Chidambaram's medical report by tomorrow'

New Delhi: In the INX Media case, former Finance Minister and veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on health grounds seeking interim bail. Hearing this on Thursday, the High Court has issued instructions to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to set up a medical board to examine Chidambaram's health. Also on Friday, the report in this regard should be presented in Delhi High Court.

During the hearing on Thursday, the Delhi High Court also directed that his family doctor Nageshwar Reddy should also be included in the medical board to be constituted by AIIMS for the treatment of P Chidambaram. AIIMS Medical Board is going to have a meeting today at 7 pm in relation to Chidambaram's health.

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal had submitted a petition before the bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Harishankar and demanded immediate hearing on it. The bench had listed the matter before the appropriate court on Thursday. Chidambaram had filed an interim relief petition through his main bail plea in the INX Media case.
