New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted a major setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government amid the crisis of the corona epidemic, which recently stayed the Kejriwal government's order to reserve 80% of ICU beds for corona-infected patients in private hospitals in the capital till further hearing.

According to the information, the High Court on Tuesday gave a stay on the AAP government's order in which 33 large private hospitals were ordered to reserve 80% ICU beds for corona patients. The court said the decision seems arbitrary and unfair. The court will now hear the case further on October 16. Justice Naveen Chawla said prima facie the Delhi government's September 13 order, guaranteed under the Constitution, appears to be "violation of fundamental rights of citizens, arbitrary and unfair".

He has asked the Delhi government and the Centre to respond to a plea filed by the Association of Healthcare Providers to revoke the order to reserve 80 per cent ICU beds for corona patients. Let us tell you, in the midst of a fast-growing corona infection in Delhi, in the past, CM Arvind Kejriwal had ordered the authorities to take all necessary steps to increase the number of ICU beds in hospitals and prevent the spread of infection. For this, he had also ordered to keep reserve for 80% ICU beds corona infected patients in all private hospitals, which has been stopped by the court.
