New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected a petition that sought a lockdown in view of the growing Corona cases in the state. The court told the petitioner that in this case neither the intervention of the court is required nor the petition needs to be heard.

The court asked the petitioner the question of whether the High Court can issue instructions to impose state lockdown? The court further said that the decision to impose lockdown in a state is taken by the government, for this, there is a policy decision. In such cases, the government also has to decide what should be implemented in the state to deal with which situation and what is not. In fact, the petitioner's argument was that the number of people dying in Delhi is increasing every day.

Along with this, the number of people infected with corona is also increasing continuously. In such a situation, there is a dire need to put a lockdown in the capital to curb the third wave of Corona in Delhi. However, the court did not agree with the petitioner's argument. The court said that the Delhi government is competent to take a decision related to the imposition or not of a lockdown, in such a case there is no need to interfere in the Delhi court.
