New Delhi: The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, has given the green light to a proposal involving the transplantation of a total of 96 and 107 trees. This initiative is in aid of the Northern Railways and Central Secretariat Projects, which are set to take place at Arakpur, Moti Bagh, and Ashoka Road respectively, all within the nation's capital.

Thanks to the consistent urging from the Lieutenant Governor, aimed at expediting the approval process for developmental ventures within the city, the Delhi Government, along with the Environment Minister and Chief Minister, has initiated the swift clearance of these projects. Projects that had been marred by delays spanning from 3 to 5 years are now being swiftly approved by the Delhi Government in a matter of months. Following the successful clearance of the Defense and Railway Projects in July, the Chief Minister has once again recommended the expedited approval of the Railway Housing and Central Secretariat Projects within the coming months, as confirmed by an official statement from the Delhi LG's office.

In addition to the transplantation of trees, a commendable number of 960 and 1070 saplings encompassing various plant species are being diligently planted. These efforts are being carried out by the respective user agencies at Rampura, Shakur Basti, Madipur, and the NTPC Eco Park. The scope of this compensatory plantation covers a diverse range of tree species, including Neem, Amaltas, Peepal, Pilkhan, Gular, Bargad, and Arjun, among others.

It's imperative to note that no trees will be subject to cutting or felling as part of these two initiatives. The Railway Project at Arakpur Bagh, focused on the construction of a multi-story residential building, is planned over an expansive 1.2669 hectares of land. Simultaneously, the Central Secretariat Project, slated for Plot No. 138, Ashoka Road, will span an area of 1.7765 hectares, as emphasized in an official statement.
