New Delhi:  A maulvi charged with raping a minor girl inside a mosque after which he has been arrested. Delhi Police has informed about the incident on Tuesday (June 1, 2021). Police produced the accused before the court after registering an FIR in the case. The court remanded the accused for 14 days in judicial custody.

Police said, the action was taken after receiving the complaint. He also assured that immediate justice should be received in the matter and the process of filing the chargesheet is being completed at the earliest after investigation. According to the complaint, the victim minor girl said in her statement that the incident took place at 10 pm on Sunday (May 30, 2021) when she went inside the mosque to fetch the water.

It is alleged that the 48-year-old accused stopped him and then raped him. The victim informed the family members about the incident after going home after which they lodged a police complaint. Medical examination is being conducted in the victim. After receiving information about the incident, a crowd of angry people gathered outside the mosque.
