New Delhi: The air in the country's capital Delhi has improved marginally. The air quality index (AQI) in the capital on Thursday morning was recorded at 362, up from 373 on Wednesday evening. However, Delhi's air is still in the 'extremely bad' category. Delhi as well as Noida recorded 338 AQI, Gurugram 378, Bhopal 278, Patna 271, Jaipur 269, Lucknow 185, Mumbai 152 on Wednesday evening.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), as of Wednesday evening, there were only 37 stations in the country's cities where the air was 'good.' On the other hand, the air at 61 cities was 'bad' and 68 were 'extremely bad.' While there were 6 cities where air quality was in the 'critical' category. When AQI lasts between 201 and 300, the air is considered 'bad.' Similarly, living from 301 to 400 is considered 'very bad' and 'serious' when it exceeds 401.

Several restrictions have been imposed in Delhi in view of the worsening pollution situation. Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that it has been decided to close all schools, colleges, libraries and training centres till further orders. At the same time, the entry of trucks carrying non-essential goods has also been banned. At the same time, employees have been instructed to work in work from home mode by November 21. He said water spraying machines are being used in 13 sensitive areas of Delhi.
