New Delhi: Several changes have been made in the country for some time now. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has ordered 16 illegal plastic production units in the national capital Delhi to stop functioning in the last two months. Officers gave this news One officer said that DPCC teams had visited 25 industrial units in Bawana and Narela industrial areas in February and March and found that only nine of them were following the rules.

16 units were found to be in violation of the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. "They are not allowed by the DPCC to operate them," said the officer. The thickness of the plastic bags being made on their behalf was not reasonable (less than 50 microns). He said that these 16 units, which are not following the rules, have been told to stop functioning and have been fined Rs.12.22 lakhs as compensation for damage to the environment.

According to a media report, by 2022, Delhi can get rid of 'poisonous' plastics. Products made of plastic up to 50 microns will not only be used, but their production will also be stopped. After the rigor of the NGT and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Delhi Government's Environment Department has launched a campaign with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) in association with the Delhi Park Garden Society. In this, action is being taken against the units which manufacture such products.
