NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police Special Force detained 2 key members of an inter-state illegal firearms syndicate near the NTPC Eco Park on the Kalindi Kunj-Meethapur Road in Delhi on February 16, sources said.

Ten pistols, including four semi-automatic pistols with.30 bore, two pistols with.32 bore, and four single shot pistols with.315 bore, as well as a Maruti Ertiga automobile used to transport weaponry from the custody of the accused pair have also been seized by police.

"There was information that Delhi-NCR mafia and hardened criminals were buying sophisticated weapons from arms dealers in Madhya Pradesh. The group developed this knowledge further. Upon questioning, both arms dealers admitted that they had bought the confiscated firearms from a renowned arms dealer in Khargone and transported the shipment to Delhi in accordance with the instructions of their handler in Uttar Pradesh.
