One faction of protesters was in support of postponing the protest in view of the threat of coronavirus from the beginning, while the other faction is still continuing to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act till the police action today. Since Sunday, there was a possibility of ruckus, due to which heavy police force was deployed.
