NEW DELHI: In a bid to draw attention to the delay in NEET PG Counselling 2021, the Delhi Police stopped agitating doctors from approaching the Supreme Court on Monday. The doctors marched from Maulana Azad Medical College to the Supreme Court to intensify their protest against the NEET exam's frequent delays.  However, they were stopped by the police on their approach to the Supreme Court, and they protested by placing their lab coats on the road.

Dr Survrsh Pandey, General Secretary of the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Resident Doctors Association, said: "Since December 17, we have been boycotting normal and emergency medical services in Delhi's hospitals. We decided to demonstrate outside the Supreme Court and present our lab coats to the apex court after our protest outside Nirman Bhawan went nowhere, but we were stopped in the middle." "We ask the court to take Suo Moto in this case because the third wave (of Covid) is approaching and we are already overworked due to the NEET PG counselling delay." Residents doctors across the country have been protesting since November 27 against the NEET PG Counselling 2021 exam being postponed many times and the subsequent admission of a new batch of resident doctors to medical colleges.

The RDAs began a boycott of emergency and routine medical services on December 6. After receiving a good guarantee from the health ministry on December 9, the federation decided to put their protest on hold for a week.
