Delhi Riot case: Safura Zarg relieved from Delhi HC, bail granted

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has approved the bail of Jamia Co-ordination Committee member and Jamia student Safura Zargar. The court granted this bail in a case related to the Delhi violence in February this year. Sapura is pregnant. The court directed Safura to get in touch with the investigating officer through phone at least once in 15 days.

The court said that he should not be involved in any such activity which hinders the investigation. Also, permission has to be obtained before leaving Delhi. Earlier on Monday, Delhi Police protested against the bail of Safura Zargar, who was imprisoned in jail. In its status report, it has called it a national security crisis and a sham.

Delhi Police told Delhi High Court that national security was in danger due to student activist. This statement of Delhi Police came after the court order in which it asked the police to give a status report on the bail application. Jamia Milia Islamia student Safura Zargar pleaded for bail in the court. During the bail hearing, Delhi Police told the court that Zargar was part of a larger conspiracy that not only caused chaos but also caused death and loss of people.
