New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has rejected the bail plea of former JNU student Umar Khalid, who was arrested for conspiring in the anti-Hindu riots of Delhi and arrested under UAPA. The Delhi High Court had reserved the verdict on the bail application of Umar Khalid in the UAPA case related to the conspiracy behind the February 2020 riots. Today a bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Rajneesh Bhatnagar has given its verdict on this matter. Umar Khalid challenged in the High Court after the bail application was rejected in the Lower Court.

At the same time, after the bail plea of former JNU student Umar Khalid was rejected, BJP leader Kapil Mishra said that Umar Khalid is guilty of riots and killings of innocent people in Delhi. Jihadis like Tahir Hussain and Umar Khalid cannot escape the clutches of law. I welcome the decision of the Delhi High Court today.

Let us tell you that the Delhi High Court on Tuesday refused to grant bail in the case registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) against former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid for plotting the riots in Delhi in February 2020. A bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Rajneesh Bhatnagar said that no cogent reason has been given in the bail application, hence the bail application is dismissed.
