New Delhi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Delhi University today, several colleges within the university have issued guidelines for the event, sparking controversy over a dress code that bans black attire. While Hindu College, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Zakir Husain Delhi College have reportedly issued these guidelines, Hindu College Principal Anju Srivastava has denied any official notice. She stated, "It appears there is some misrepresentation," emphasizing that the administration had not issued such guidelines.

Nonetheless, screenshots of the guidelines have circulated on social media platforms, indicating the dress code restrictions and the requirement for "proper attire" while specifically avoiding black clothing. Additionally, the guidelines mention compulsory attendance for both students and faculty, along with the suspension of classes during the designated time frame.
