New Delhi: Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in the country's capital, Delhi. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Palam and Safdarjung recorded temperatures of 9.4 °C and 9.8 °C respectively. Due to changes in weather conditions, the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.2 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal on Friday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 18.6 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees below normal.
The decrease in temperature increased and the cold wave disturbed the people. Due to the active Western disturbance in the next 2 days, the minimum temperature is likely to rise. Earlier, Delhi was in the grip of cold wave and the temperature had reached 1.1 degrees. The scientists then declared a cold wave in Delhi. A cold wave occurs in the plains when the minimum temperature is 10°C or below or 4.5 degrees below normal for two days continuously.
The cold wave is also declared in the plains when the minimum temperature is less than 4 °c. Witnessing a cold day and a cold wave together means that the difference between day and night temperatures was less than normal.
