NEW DELHI: A woman was shot at by her neighbor in Delhi's Siraspur location, a senior police official said on April 3, he also said that two persons have been arrested in connection. The victim identified as thirty-year-old Ranju  who is  currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, added the official.

The Samaypur Badli police station received a PCR report about a woman being shot at around 12.15 a.m. on Monday, and a police team immediately raced to the scene. The victim had already been transported to the Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh by the time the police arrived.

The police crew examined the crime spot. The victim's medical and legal records were gathered when the official arrived at the hospital, and the doctor noted that the victim had a gunshot wound to the neck and was therefore unfit to speak.

"In a statement made by the injured person's sister-in-law, it was claimed that Ranju was shot at by Harish, who lives across the street in the same colony.

On Sunday, a DJ played music during a programme for Harish's son's 'kuwa pujan. Ranju went to the balcony and requested Harish to turn down the music because of the clamour. A case was filed against the two guys under Sections 307/34 IPC and 27 Arms Act shortly after Harish stole the gun from the second accused Amit and shot at Ranju, the officer claimed.
