Delta Plus variant raises problems after Corona, 40 cases registered in the country

New Delhi: New cases of deadly corona infections are declining in the country, but now the Delta Plus variant of corona has put the state governments in trouble. According to sources, 40 cases of delta plus variant have been registered in the country so far. Most of the cases have come from Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. However, the delta plus variant cases are also in Madhya Pradesh.

On the other hand, the daily number of corona cases in the country witnessed an increase as 50,848 fresh infections were recorded in the last 24 hours, data uploaded by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at 8 am on Wednesday showed. With this, the country's cumulative covid infection tally has crossed the 30 million mark, reaching 30,028,709, including 390,660 related deaths, of which 1,358 deaths occurred over a 24-hour period.

On Tuesday, the Health Ministry recorded 42,640 new cases and 1,167 deaths due to viral illness in the last 24 hours. The latest vaccination numbers saw a decline as nearly 5.4 million more corona vaccine doses were administered on June 21, compared to a record 8.6 million. Meanwhile, data shared by the government-run Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) showed that 1,901,056 samples were tested for the coronary virus disease on Tuesday, compared to 1,664,360 on June 20.
