CHICAGO: At a DNC convention event, Kamala Harris drew a large crowd in Wisconsin, filling the arena that once hosted the Republican National Convention. The gathering turned into a lively celebration as delegates from each state expressed their support for the Democratic nominee. A DJ played state-specific songs, and during Georgia's turn, Lil Jon thrilled the audience by performing his hit "Turn Down for What."

The highlight of the night was the appearance of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, who are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Their presence underscores the broad and diverse coalition that Harris is building in her campaign to challenge Donald Trump in the upcoming election. This coalition includes leaders from across the political spectrum, from progressives to centrists, and even some Republicans who oppose Trump.

Stephanie Grisham, a former press secretary for Trump who is now a vocal critic, made a notable appearance. She praised Harris for her honesty and respect for the American people, emphasizing her support for Harris over Trump. Other key figures, including second gentleman Doug Emhoff and Senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders, also spoke at the event, highlighting the unity within the party.

Meanwhile, Trump continued his campaign in battleground states, visiting Michigan and criticizing Harris with harsh rhetoric. He labeled her as the "ringleader" of what he described as a "Marxist attack on law enforcement."

Barack Obama, who first gained national attention at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, is expected to deliver a powerful speech affirming Harris and Tim Walz as the right leaders for the current moment. He will outline the challenges Democrats face in the remaining weeks of the campaign and emphasize the core values at stake in the election.

Harris has portrayed the election as a crucial moment for the country, warning against complacency, especially in light of recent Supreme Court decisions. She has also focused on Trump's opposition to abortion rights, making it a central issue in her campaign.

The Chicago convention hall will host thousands of attendees, who will hear from a variety of prominent Republicans now critical of Trump, including former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, and former Trump White House staffer Olivia Troye. As the Democrats shift their focus to the final stretch of the campaign, they are determined to present a united front and ensure a strong finish.
