America: Mass protests and mayhem continues, thousands arrested during weekend

Washington: The cases of Coronavirus is increasing in every corner of the country. Every day, these stories of crime have created a rage in the hearts of the people. In America, the fire of violent demonstrations against the killing of black George Floyd has spread in more than a dozen cities. On Saturday, protesters from New York to Tulsa and Los Angeles burned several police cars. The protest began in Minneapolis after Floyd's death. Many buildings were set on fire and shops looted. A demonstrator was killed in police firing in Indianapolis. The National Security Guard has been deployed in six states to control the situation.

In Washington, a large number of people gathered outside the White House and raised slogans. Peaceful demonstrations in Philadelphia took a violent form. At least 13 policemen were injured here, while four police vehicles were set on fire. At the Greenwood District of Tulsa in Oklahoma, protesters shouted slogans in support of the black Terrance Crutcher killed by police in 2016. A pickup truck entered the crowd of protesters in Thalassi, Florida on Saturday night, causing panic among the people. However, no one died. In Los Angeles, police fired rubber bullets and Baton-charged the protesters. During this, actor Candrick Sampson was also injured due to a rubber bullet.

Police have arrested around 1400 people in 17 cities. According to the AP, police have arrested 1383 people since Thursday.  Possible presidential candidate Joe Biden from the Democratic Party condemned the violence during the demonstrations. 

After the video of the incident related to Floyd's death, the anger of the people was provoked against the police. In the video, a police officer is seen stroking Floyd's neck with his knee and slowly cuffs Floyd's breath. The accused policeman has been arrested.
