Deoghar: A shocking incident is coming to light from Deoghar, Jharkhand, where dowry-greedy in-laws tied the hands and feet of the daughter-in-law and beat her up. The victim has alleged that her in-laws also held her hostage. The incident took place in Nychikkath under Rikhia police station area of Deoghar. Newly married Radhika Kumari has also accused her in-laws of fatally attacking her. According to the news received in connection with the incident, after receiving the news of the daughter-in-law being tied and beaten up by the in-laws, the headman along with the people of the village rescued the victim. A complaint has also been filed in the police station.
The victim, Radhika Kumari, has lodged an application at the Rikhia police station accusing her husband Raj Dulara Mandal, father-in-law Vakil Mandal, Bhainsur Durga Mandal, brother-in-law Ghanshyam Mandal, mother-in-law Lilua Devi and elder daughter Mala Devi of Bhathariya village under Sarath police station area. The victim has informed the police that she got married a year ago. After marriage, the in-laws started harassing them about bed, bike, almirah, gold chain etc.
In the written complaint given by Radhika to the police, it is mentioned that her father has died. According to the ability of the marriage, the brother gave the goods. The in-laws tried to kill her by poisoning her several times. Panchayati was also held several times in the presence of the head man and the people of the village. Obeying the umpires, the uncle gave them a bed and sent them away. On June 4, she was tied to the house and beaten up and locked from outside. Someone gave the news to my uncle. Dozens of people, including the chief, arrived and opened the lock and saved my life.
