Mumbai: Famous wrestler and actor Dara Singh has earned name and fame all over the world. He made the world win his strength without losing in about 500 matches. Dara Singh was born on 19 November. Dara Singh's full name was Dara Singh Randhawa. He was born in 1928 in Amritsar district of undivided Punjab. Dara Singh was fond of wrestling since childhood. He first started his victory journey in Singapore in 1947 by defeating Malaysian champion Tarlok Singh.

Dara Singh won the Indian Wrestling Championship title in 1954. He also became the Commonwealth Champion after this. As soon as Dara Singh's name comes to mind, he first remembers his match with world champion King Kong. After this match, Dara Singh became a superstar overnight. It is said that he picked up King Kong weighing about 200 kg and threw him out of the ring. Dara Singh got the status of 'Rustom A Hind' after he defeated King Kong.

This is a record that no wrestler has been able to break till date. Dara Singh fought nearly 500 wrestling and won all. In 1983, at the age of 55, he retired from wrestling. Dara Singh showed his strength in the arena for about 36 years. Dara Singh's name has been recorded in the Observer News Letter Hall of Fame for being invincible. Dara Singh was also a Rajya Sabha MP from 2003 to 2009.
